ATLANTA, GA -- The George Washington volleyball team fell to Western Kentucky, 30-16, 30-19, 30-20 Saturday afternoon in the Georgia Tech Renaissance Invitational at Tech's O'Keefe Gymnasium.

Western Kentucky recorded 30 more kills than GW (54-24) for the match led by Megan Argabright's 15 kills. Argabright hit .464 with just two attack errors. Fellow Hilltopper Jenna Gideon added 11 kills and hit .600. As a team, WKU hit .311 (54-17-119) compared to GW's .019 (24-22-107).

GW's Lindsey Vernand paced the Colonials with seven kills but also committed seven attack errors in 30 attempts. GW senior captain Jessica Vesey was the only Colonial with double-figure digs (11). GW junior Juliene McLaughlin added six kills with three blocks.

The Colonials (2-5) will try to snap their four-match skid when they travel to Cincinnati, OH, for a tournament at the University of Cincinnati beginning Thursday, Sept. 15. The Colonials open with a 5:00 pm match against the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. The Colonials also will play the host Bearcats of UC on Friday at noon before concluding the tournament with a match against Jacksonville (AL) State Friday at 5:00 p.m.
