Sept. 18, 2007

Final Stats

BALTIMORE, MD -- The George Washington volleyball team fell to Loyola (MD), 3-0, Tuesday night at Loyola's Reitz Arena in Baltimore. The Greyhounds needed just one hour, 22 minutes to dispatch the Colonials by the scores, 30-26, 30-21, 30-23. The loss snapped a two-match win streak by GW, which fell to 7-7 on the season. It also marked GW's first loss to Loyola in 10 meetings.

Senior Janine Brown led all players with 21 kills and hit .241 but she had little help offensively as no other Colonial tallied more than four kills. Senior Erica Williams added four kills and hit .375 while junior Liz Moult also had four kills. Brown also recorded 10 digs for her ninth double-double in 11 matches. Freshman Leah Hill led the Colonials with 13 digs.

Loyola (9-6) had a trio of players with 11 kills each led by Karlee Woodward whose 11 kills without an error led to a .478 hitting percentage. Teammates Nina Camaioni and Christina Greenup also added 11 kills each for the Greyhounds. Chrissey Cruz recorded a match-high 20 digs.

GW (7-7) next opens A-10 Conference play Friday at Fordham in a 7 p.m. match in the Bronx. The Colonials remain on the road to play Rhode Island Sunday at 1 p.m. in Kingston, RI.
