Women's Volleyball Tops Fordham for Fourth-Straight Victory

Lazzari and Hokom Record Double-doubles to Lead Colonials

BRONX, NY (Sept. 29, 2001) - George Washington women's volleyball remained undefeated in Atlantic 10 play with a 3-1 road victory over the Fordham Rams, 18-30, 30-22, 30-25, 30-25, Friday evening.

The Colonials (4-6, 3-0 A-10) received outstanding play from sophomores Ruth Lazzari (Seal Beach, CA) and Sarah Hokom (Caldwell, ID). The duo of outside hitters recorded double-doubles in kills and digs for the match. Lazzari led the Colonials with 18 kills and 17 digs, while Hokom contributed 15 kills and 14 digs in the winning effort.

GW faces Temple (10-2, 3-0 A-10) on the road on Tuesday, October 2, in a rematch of last year's Atlantic 10 Championship final.
