The Dukes owned the third set building a 10-3 lead and coasting to the 25-16 win. Set four was the closest of the match with two lead changes and five ties, the last coming at 7-7 before a pair of GW attack errors gave Duquesne a lead it would not relinquish en route to a 25-22 triumph.
The fifth set started out well for GW after the Colonials raced out to a 6-2 lead on an ace from Whyte and a Duke attack error. GW unraveled, however, and Duquesne rallied to take an 11-7 lead after six GW errors and a kill by Ashley Buse. Duquesne put the match away on a kill by Allison Foschia to win the set, 15-11.
