WASHINGTON - The George Washington volleyball team continued its extended road swing with a visit to nearby Howard University on Tuesday night but fell by a score of 3-0.

Key Stats

  • Junior Kelsey Clark and sophomore Skylar Iott shared the team lead with 10 kills apiece. Clark also totaled three block assists while Iott added five digs and an ace.
  • Sophomore Jaimeson Lee nearly double-doubled with 16 assists and nine digs.
  • Senior Aaliya Davidson led the team with 11 digs on the night along with five kills.
  • Unforced errors was the story of the match as GW committed 17 attack errors and nine service errors. Howard also struggled from the service line with 13 miscues.

    Set 1: Howard 25, GW 21

  • The teams battled across 11 ties and six lead changes in a back-and-forth opening set.
  • Howard swung .312 with three attack errors while limiting GW to .175 (14k-7e-40a).
  • The last tie came at 15-15 but the Bison scored six of the next seven points to open a 21-16 lead before holding on for the 25-21 win.

    Set 2: Howard 26, GW 24

  • GW played out to a 13-10 lead before Howard used a 7-1 run to pull ahead, 17-14.
  • GW trailed 22-18 but chipped away at the lead to tie the match at 24-24, but two straight points by the Bison clinched the set at 26-24.

    Set 3: Howard 25, GW 17

  • Howard had its best offensive set of the match in the third, swinging .387 with just two attack errors.
