KINGSTON, RI -- The GW Volleyball team suffered an A-10 road loss at Rhode Island by the scores, 30-19, 30-20, 30-23, Friday night at URI's Keaney Gym. The loss dropped GW to 4-11, 1-3 in the Atlantic 10. URI improved to 7-8, 2-2 A-10.

GW sophomore Kelly Kabbes (Cary, NC) paced the Colonials' attack with nine kills while hitting .389 and added a solo block. Senior Molly Law (Denver, CO) and Jessica Vesey (Poway, CA) added 10 digs each.

The Rams took easy victories in games one and two before GW rallied in game three. The Colonials led 14-9 in the third game before URI outscored GW, 9-2, to take an 18-16 lead and coast to the victory.

The Rams were led by Kaleena Miller and Beatriz Arana who had 13 kills each and Marie Rolfe's match-high 21 digs.

The Colonials combined to hit just .071 (36-26-140) as a team compared to .242 (50-19-128) for Rhode Island.

GW continues its road trip to New York to play Fordham Saturday in a 5:00 p.m. match in the Bronx.
