LORETTO, PA - The GW Volleyball team defeated St. Francis, 30-26, 30-20, 30-22, in a non-conference match at Loretto, PA, Friday night. The victory served two purposes for the Colonials. GW junior Sarah Hokom (Caldwell, ID/Caldwell) led all players with 12 kills and added seven digs. Junior Ruth Lazzari (Seal Beach, CA/Connelly) was the only other Colonial in double-figure kills with 11 but added a match-high 13 digs. Junior co-captain Lauren Dunning (Stockton, CA/St. Mary's) contributed 25 assists and scored three points on service aces.

Sophomore Katie Downey (Caldwell, ID/Caldwell) hit an efficient .385 (6-1-13) with a pair of blocks.

Saint Francis's Emily Turza led the Red Flash with 11 kills and teammate Jaclyn Kessler hit .462 (8-2-13) with four blocks.

St. Francis (10-11) hit .147 (32-17-102) as a team compared to .274 (50-19-113) for GW.
