CINCINNATI, OH -- The GW Volleyball team lost for the fifth straight match, 3-0, to Xavier Friday night in Cincinnati. The Musketeers combined to hit .323 as a team with 56 kills while holding the Colonials to a .121 percentage on 40 kills. The Musketeers won the match, 30-22, 30-20, 30-22, in one hour, 30 minutes at XU's Cintas Center.

The loss dropped the reeling Colonials to 4-13, 1-5 in the Atlantic 10. Xavier improved to 11-8 overall and 5-1 in the A-10.

Only four Colonials managed a positive hitting percentage in the match led by senior co-captain Molly Law's 14 kills for a .306 percentage and 10 digs. Junior Shannon Parks hit. 333 with four kills and Kelly Kabbes hit .267 with five kills.

The Colonials posted four solo blocks, one eac h by Kabbes, Parks, Lindsey Vernand and Juliene McLaughlin but Xavier put up eight total blocks to four by the Colonials.

Xavier was led by Carley Horvath's errorless 16 kills in 22 attempts for a .727 percentage. XU's Jordan Brightwell added a match-high 22 digs..

GW remains in Ohio for a match at Dayton Saturday at 7:00 p.m.
