Volleyball Announces Yearly Team Awards

WASHINGTON, DC -- The 2005 George Washington Volleyball Team Awards were presented Feb. 7 at its annual season-ending banquet. Each award winner was selected by her teammates for their contributions throughout the course of the 2005 season. GW posted a 14-15 overall mark, 5-8 in the A-10 last season.

2005 GW VOLLEYBALL AWARDS
Most Outstanding Player: Juliene McLaughlin (5-9, Jr., OH)
Rookie of the Year: Maggie Wright (5-4, Fr., Defensive Specialist)
Most Improved: Erica Williams (5-8, So., MH)
Defensive Player of the Year: Jessica Vesey (5-8, Sr., Libero)
Offensive Player of the Year: Abigail Hatter (6-3, Sr., MH)
Most Inspirational: Shannon Parks (6-1, Sr., OPP)
