FAIRFAX, VA - The GW volleyball team had a successful spring competition date at the George Mason Spring Tournament. Sophomore Alex Coward hit .288 for the weekend, junior Katie Zulandt hit .332 and freshman Candace Silva-Martin led the team with 34 digs. Converted defensive specialist Christie Graf was the quarterback/setter the entire day.

"Christie's confidence grew throughout the day and her teammates gave her more confidence by being strategic and by putting away her sets for kills," coach Jojit Coronel said.

GW def. George Mason (15-13, 15-9)

GW hosts its next spring competition on Saturday, April 3 at Charles E. Smith Center. Matches begin at 9:00 a.m. and admission is free. Participating teams are Pittsburgh, American, George Mason, Towson and Navy.
