WASHINGTON - The George Washington volleyball team will host the Metropolitan University of Puerto Rico in an exhibition contest on Wednesday evening at the Charles E. Smith Center at 7:00 p.m.
The match marks the final stop on UMET's tour of Washington, D.C. The team defeated George Mason, 3-2, on Monday evening in Fairfax, Virginia, and will visit American on Tuesday evening ahead of Wednesday's scheduled contest.
GW senior Kelsey Newman was named the Atlantic 10 Co-Player of the Week and sophomore Chidima Osuchukwu was named the conference's Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday after the pair led the Colonials to a perfect 3-0 weekend at the GW Invitational.
GW (3-0) did not concede a set in three victories over Arkansas State, Auburn and North Dakota. It is the first time that the Colonials have won their first three matches of the season in straight sets since the 2000 season.
GW resumes its regular season at this weekend's James Madison Invitational in Harrisonburg, Virginia. The Colonials will face Southeastern Louisiana on Friday before a doubleheader against Hampton and the host Dukes on Saturday.
