GW Volleyball's Chidima Osuchukwu Named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week
Freshman Middle Blocker Earns Second Weekly Honor of the Season

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - George Washington freshman middle blocker Chidima Osuchukwu was named the Atlantic 10 Volleyball Rookie of the Week the league office announced on Monday.
Monday's honor marks the second time this season that Osuchukwu has been tabbed the conference's top rookie performer.
The Virginia Beach, Va., native hit .361 with 16 kills against just three errors while posting 14.0 blocks (2 solo, 12 assist) as the Colonials picked up home victories over La Salle and VCU.
In Friday's 3-0 win over La Salle, Osuchukwu tallied six kills against one error and added three blocks (one solo, two assist).
She followed that performance with 10 kills and a season-high 11.0 rejections (one solo, 10 assist) on Saturday as the Colonials knocked off previous A-10 unbeaten VCU.
Osuchukwu currently ranks first overall in the Atlantic 10 with 21 solo blocks, fourth with a .332 attack percentage and fifth with an average of 1.18 blocks per set.
GW returns to action this weekend with a visit to La Salle on Friday night in Philadelphia, Pa., followed by a home contest against local rival and Atlantic 10 newcomer George Mason on Sunday.
