WASHINGTON - The George Washington volleyball team will attempt to extend its three-match win streak this weekend with a visit to La Salle on Friday night before hosting George Mason on Sunday in the inaugural event in the Revolutionary Rivalry.

Goss Leads GW Volleyball Past La Salle, 3-0
WASHINGTON - Senior Rachael Goss led all players with 16 kills and 13 digs as the George Washington volleyball team opened its weekend home stand with a 3-0 sweep of La Salle on Friday night at the Charles E. Smith Center.

Volleyball Overcomes Slow Start to Top George Mason, 3-1
WASHINGTON- The George Washington volleyball team dropped the first set but rallied to clinch a 3-1 victory over George Mason in game three of the DC Challenge on Saturday morning at the Charles E. Smith Center. The set scores were 23-25, 25-21, 25-22, 25-20.

GW (8-10, 3-1 A-10) picked up two wins last weekend at the Charles E. Smith Center, sweeping La Salle last Friday night before handing previously A-10 unbeaten VCU its first loss of the season in a thrilling five-set victory on Saturday.

Freshman Chidima Osuchukwu was named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week for the second time this season after hitting .361 with 16 kills and 14.0 blocks in the two victories. She currently ranks fourth in the Atlantic 10 with a .332 attack percentage and fifth in blocks per set (1.18).

Senior Rachael Goss, the reigning GWsports.com Colonial of the Week, led the Colonials with 16 kills and 13 digs in GW's 3-0 sweep of La Salle last Friday night.

La Salle (1-23, 0-6 A-10) has lost 23 straight matches following a season-opening win over Fairleigh Dickinson.

Junior Kelsey Newman leads GW's attack with 157 kills while sophomore Maddy Doyle paces the defense with 298 digs.

GW leads the all-time series against George Mason, 30-8. The teams last met in 2011, when the Colonials defeated the Patriots, 3-1, in the second game of the DC Volleyball Challenge at Smith Center.

George Mason (6-13, 2-3 A-10) has five players with over 100 kills on the season, led by Morghan Martin's 155 winners.
