NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - George Washington senior middle blocker MacKenzie Knox has been named the Atlantic 10 Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday. It marks the first A-10 weekly honor of her career.

Knox helped lead the Colonials to a perfect 2-0 weekend in Philadelphia with consecutive sweeps of Temple and La Salle. The Huntington Beach, Calif., native hit .516 over the two matches, collecting 21 kills against just five errors in 31 attempts.

She started the weekend by posting career-high totals of 15 kills on .650 hitting percentage and 17.5 points Friday evening against the Owls. She added six kills in Saturday's victory over La Salle.

GW (17-6, 6-3 A-10) returns to action this weekend with a critical road trip to Ohio to face Xavier (Fri., 7 p.m.) and Dayton (Sat., 7 p.m.). The Colonials beat Xavier, 3-2, Oct. 10 and suffered their only home loss of the season to Dayton 3-0, Oct. 7.
