GW (11-11, 6-2 A-10) welcomes defending A-10 Champion Dayton (10-11, 4-5 A-10) on Friday night at 7 p.m. for 90s Night before facing Duquesne (14-8, 8-1 A-10) in the annual BUFF OUT match on Saturday at 7 p.m.
The Colonials have won six of their last seven matches after last Sunday's sweep of George Mason and are currently in third place in the Atlantic 10 conference standings, just one game behind league leaders VCU and Duquesne in the loss column.
Freshman Chidima Osuchukwu continues to impress in her debut season, leading the Atlantic 10 and ranking 41st overall in Division I with a .378 attack percentage. The Virginia Beach, Va., native also ranks first in the A-10 with 25 solo blocks and sits second on the team with 178 kills.
Junior Kelsey Newman leads the Colonials' attack with 180 kills while ranking 10th in the A-10 with an average of 2.77 kills per set.
Dayton, the unanimous selection to repeat as A-10 Champions in the Preseason Coaches' Poll, leads the Atlantic 10 in blocks (2.78/set) and rank third in opponent hitting percentage (.178). The Flyers are led offensively by Megan Campbell who has 205 kills on the season.
Dayton leads the all-time series against GW, 26-9.
Duquesne has won seven matches in a row entering the weekend and will visit George Mason on Friday night ahead of Saturday's rematch. The Dukes swept the Colonials last Friday evening in Pittsburgh.
