PHILADELPHIA, PA -- For the third straight week and the fifth time this season, GW freshman Alyssa Valentine (Tustin, CA) has been named the Atlantic 10 Conference Rookie of the Week, the league office announced Monday. The Colonials' setter earned the honor after she assisted on 45 of GW's 55 kills in helping lead GW to a 1-0 record last week. Valentine has also won the award on Sept. 2 following the first week of the season, on Sept. 15, Oct. 20 and on Oct. 27.

In the Colonials' only match of the week, Valentine recorded 45 assists while serving her season-high four aces and had seven digs as GW defeated the Bison, 3-1.

Valentine's stats for the week: one match, four sets, 45 assists, two kills, one attack errors, five attempts, .200 hitting percentage, seven digs, four service aces for 6.0 points.

GW (13-9, 5-4 A-10) next plays at Morgan State (3-24) in a non-conference match on Tuesday in Baltimore beginning at 7:00 p.m.
