Volleyball Adds Bowman During Early Signing Period

Nov. 10, 2017

WASHINGTON - George Washington volleyball head coach Sarah Bernson has announced the signing of Bella Bowman, a libero out of Louisville, Kentucky, as her first recruit. Bowman signed a National Letter of Intent earlier this week to join the Colonials in the fall of 2018.

Bowman recently wrapped her scholastic career at Assumption High School by helping the Rockets to the Kentucky State Championship. She totaled 183 service aces and 135 digs over 80 sets this season as Assumption finished with a 42-3 overall record.

The 5-foot-7 defensive specialist earned spots on the All-Tournament Teams during Assumption's District and Regional Championship runs.

"Bella will make an impact on our ball-handling system and has played at a consistently high level on both her high school and club teams," said Bernson. "I'm looking forward to her transitioning into a quality Division I player."

Bowman also competes with the Kentucky Independent Volleyball Association (KIVA) where current Colonials Sydney Welch and Alexis Lete have played in the past.
