PHILADELPHIA, PA -- Senior Janine Brown has been named to the Atlantic 10 Conference All-Conference Second Team and junior Maggie Wright was named to the Academic All-Conference team for volleyball in voting conducted among the Conference's head coaches, the league office announced Nov. 15.

Brown, the Colonials' senior captain, led the squad, and was second in the A-10, in kills average with 4.29 per game. She also led the Colonials in points (521) and digs (374). She registered 24 double-doubles (kills/digs) in 27 matches this season and has scored double-figure points and pounded double-figure kills in all but one match in which she has appeared.

Wright was voted to the six-member Academic All-Conference team by the league's sports information directors and coaches. Wright maintains a 3.95 GPA as a Pre-Health Professional major. Last week she was named to the 2007 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District II University Division Volleyball team as voted by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Sixth-seeded GW (13-16, 5-8 A-10) faces third-seeded Saint Louis Friday in the first round of the A-10 Tournament in Charlotte. That match is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. at Charlotte's Halton Arena. The winner will meet either top-seeded Dayton at 5 p.m. Saturday or second-seeded Xavier at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. The winners advance to the championship final at 1 p.m. Sunday.
