Host GW Volleyball Set for Atlantic 10 Championship
Colonials Look to Defend Home Court Advantage in Search of First A-10 Title Since 2000

WASHINGTON - The No. 3 seeded George Washington volleyball team will face No. 6 Rhode Island in the quarterfinals of the Atlantic 10 Championship on Friday evening at 7:30 p.m., at the Charles E. Smith Center.
The Atlantic 10 Championship returns to Smith Center for the third time overall and the first time since 1991. The Colonials are 2-2 all-time in A-10 Championship matches played at the Smith Center.
The Colonials are 17-22 all-time in the A-10 Championship, with conference titles in 1993, 1994, 1995 and 2000.
GW (15-13, 10-4 A-10) earned the No. 3 seed after posting 10 conference wins, its most in a season since going 14-2 en route to capturing the 2000 A-10 Championship title.
GW and Rhode Island (15-15, 7-7 A-10) have met twice this season, with each team picking up a victory on the road. The Colonials outlasted the Rams in Kingston, R.I., 3-2, on October 6. The Rams evened the season series with a 3-1 victory over the Colonials on November 10.
In three seasons under head coach Amanda Ault, the Colonials boast a record of 29-9 at the Charles E. Smith Center. Over the past five seasons, GW is 35-14 on its home floor.
GW last appeared in the Atlantic 10 Championship in 2011 with a 3-2 quarterfinal loss to Duquesne at the University of Dayton.
No. 4 Saint Louis will face No. 5 Dayton in Friday's first quarterfinal match, beginning at 5:00 p.m.
