GW's Sarah Hokom Named to 2002 Atlantic 10 Academic All-Conference Team

Junior Outside Hitter Led Colonials in Four Statistical Categories

WASHINGTON, DC - Junior Sarah Hokom (Caldwell, ID/Caldwell) has joined five others on the 2002 Atlantic 10 Academic All-Conference Volleyball Team as voted by the league's Sports Information Directors.

Hokom, who maintains a 3.71 GPA as a biological anthropology major, had a breakout season in 2002. She led the Colonials in kills with 492 (4.21 kpg), service aces with 44, block assists with 23 and total blocks with 68. She was named the Atlantic 10 Conference Player of the Week in Sept. 9 and to the GW Invitational All-Tournament team Sept. 7.

Hokom and the Colonials (19-13, 8-6 A-10) advanced to the championship final of the A-10 tournament before losing to Temple Nov. 23, in Cincinnati, OH.
