South Carolina Head Coach Kim Christopher
Overall:
"It is an exciting opportunity for us to be here. We are thrilled to be past
the first round. Our team finally started to loosen up in the third game. I
was really pleased with the way that we cam out in the third game. Nebraska
has really done a great job of hosting here."
On the first game:
"The first game really gave us confidence. We have a young team, and I felt
we were really tight up to that point. It (the win) gave us the confidence
that we needed for the second game."
On the possibility of facing Nebraska in the second round:
"I think that (playing NU) would be a great opportunity. It has been great
here so far, and I think that playing them would provide great experience
for this program. We have enjoyed playing here so far."
South Carolina Sophomore Setter Megan Hosp:
On her first NCAA tournament experience so far:
"This is my first trip to NCAA's, and I think that it helps that we have
some experience on the team. Last year, I think that we gained the
experience to play here. We can now use that experience against Nebraska."
George Washington Head Coach Jojit Coronel
Overall:
"South Carolina got better as the game went on today. They dug a lot of
shots, so did we, but they are such a bigger team that we had faced all
season. They also got their share of blocks today."
On the first game:
"If we win the first game, it springboards us into the second game so we
wouldn't have had to dig ourselves out of a hole. This was a very big match
for us, and they (South Carolina) are a great team."
George Washington Senior Jill Levey:
Overall:
"It is disappointing when we lose. We (the seniors) went out playing the
best volleyball of our careers. Sure, we would have liked to have won, but
we are satisfied with our play."
On the team's play:
"We struggled a bit with our passing, and we are usually a strong passing
team. When our passing broke down, our whole offense broke down."
