GW Women's Water Polo Drops Bucknell Invite Opener to #20 Wagner, 15-8
Berry, Bentley, Littlejohn Tally Two Goals Each

LEWISBURG, Pa. - The George Washington women's water polo team dropped its first game at the Bucknell Invitational, falling to No. 20 Wagner, 15-8, on Friday evening at Kinney Natatorium.
Seniors Katherine Berry, Rachael Bentley and Allison Littlejohn tallied two goals apiece, while senior Megan Brolley and sophomore Hannah Cox each had one to account for all of the Colonials' scoring in the game.
GW (2-3) jumped out to a 3-0 lead 55 seconds into the second quarter behind goals from Cox, Brolley and Berry, but the Seahawks scored four in a row to go up 4-3 with 2:09 remaining in the period. Littlejohn tied it with 42 seconds left in the half, but Wagner scored with 18 seconds left to take a 5-4 halftime advantage.
The teams traded goals for the entire third period before the Seahawks rattled off six straight goals to start the fourth quarter and break the game open with 3:13 to go. Littlejohn's second goal of the game interrupted the run at the 2:44 mark, but Wagner responded with its seventh goal of the period with just under two minutes remaining for the 15-8 final margin.
Berry tallied three field blocks, adding to her program-record career total, which now stands at 40. In addition, Bentley and Brolley drew three ejections apiece and junior goalkeeper Chandler Vilander recorded five saves in the cage.
The Colonials return to action on Saturday with a pair of games at the Bucknell Invitational. GW will face No. 20 (tied) Hartwick at 10:30 a.m. before closing out the day against Marist at 7:15 p.m.
