Women's Water Polo Spoils Maryland's Varsity Debut, 8-1

COLLEGE PARK, MD - The George Washington women's water polo team spoiled Maryland's first match as a varsity program by handing the Terrapins an 8-1 loss Wednesday night at the Campus Recreation Center Natatorium in College Park.

GW started conference play last evening versus The University of Maryland. The Colonials put the defensive pressure on right away forcing the Terrapins to turn the ball over and not allow them to get their offense going. GW 's offense chipped away at Maryland's defense and rolled on to victory with a 8-1 win.

GW's next matches take place Friday, Mar. 5, when it hosts Villanova at 8:30 p.m. followed by a pair of matches on Saturday beginning with Princeton at 1:30 p.m. and Bucknell at 5:00 p.m. at the Smith Center pool.
