CLAREMONT, CA - The George Washington University women's water polo team (6-6, 2-2 CWPA) began its California trip with a 5-4 loss to Division III power Pomona Pitzer, 5-4, on Thursday, March 17 at Haldeman Pool. The loss snapped the Colonials' season-best three-game winning streak.

GW trailed 3-1 after two quarters and was down, 5-3, heading into the fourth period. The Colonials added a tally in the last quarter to draw within one, 5-4, and had a chance to tie score in the final seconds, but their last shot hit the crossbar.

GW traveled to nearby Redlands, CA to take on the University of Redlands Bulldogs on Thursday evening and it will have a rematch with Pomona Pitzer, as well compete against Occidental on the first day of the Claremont Invitational on Saturday, March 19.
