LEWISBURG, PA - The George Washington women's water polo team posted a 1-3 record Friday-Sunday at the Eastern Championships hosted by Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA. After GW defeated Gannon, 8-4, in a first-round game on Friday, the Colonials dropped a pair of contests Saturday, first to 10th-ranked Indiana, 11-6, and then to Harvard, 5-4. GW closed out the weekend with a narrow 5-4 loss to host Bucknell on Sunday.

The Colonials had five players named to the All-South Regional team. Named to the All-South First Team were seniors Kira Canon (Easthampton, MA/Williston Northampton), Vanessa Fravel (Coral Gables, FL/Gulliver Prep) and sophomore goalie Amy Heinemann (N. Miami Beach, FL/Krop).

Senior Elisabeth Schweitzer (Winter Park, FL/Hawaii) and junior Kendra Shanley (Huntington Beach, CA/Marina) were both named to the All-South Second Team.
