BRIDGEPORT, Pa. - George Washington women's water polo senior Megan Brolley was named CWPA Southern Division Player of the Week and senior Katherine Berry was tabbed Defensive Player of the Week for games played March 3-9, the College Water Polo Association announced on Tuesday.

Brolley totaled 15 points on nine goals and six assists and added nine steals to lead GW to a 3-1 weekend at the Claremont Convergence. She had three goals, four steals and two ejections drawn and also won all four sprints in GW's 10-5 win over Division III No. 7 Occidental, then scored twice in a 13-7 win over Division III No. 4 Chapman. The following day, the Delray Beach, Fla., native tallied four points on two goals and two assists to go with two steals against Azusa Pacific, and she won the swimoff to start the sudden death overtime period; GW won the game 15 seconds later.

The Player of the Week award is the second of Brolley's career and first since April 22, 2013.

Berry was a factor on both ends of the pool for the Colonials, matching Brolley for the team high with nine steals and scoring 13 points on nine goals and four assists at the Claremont convergence. The central defender from Riverside, Calif., scored a team-high four goals in GW's 13-7 win over Chapman on Friday, then had three goals and five steals in the Colonials' sudden death win over Azusa Pacific on Saturday.

A first-time recipient of Defensive Player of the Week, Berry shares the honor with Princeton goalie Ashleigh Johnson. Berry is just the third Colonial ever to earn the accolade since its creation prior to the 2010 season, joining Charlotte Schou ('11) and junior Chandler Vilander.

Brolley, Berry and the Colonials (7-11) return to action on Wednesday when they face Concordia and Cal Lutheran in Thousand Oaks, Calif., to conclude their West Coast swing.
