Bywater Earns CWPA Player of the Week Honors

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. – George Washington women’s water polo’s Jacqueline Bywater has claimed the Collegiate Water Polo Association Division I Player of the Week honors, the league announced Friday.

Bywater led GW with 18 goals, seven assists, 13 steals, and two field blocks in four games as GW completed a perfect weekend at the GW Invitational.

The Colonials opened the weekend against VMI, when Bywater scored a game-high tying five goals along with freshman Ally Jochim to lead GW to a 19-14 victory. Later that day against St. Francis, Bywater again dominated offensively, scoring six of GW’s nine goals.

In day two of competition, the Riverside, California, native kept her offensive consistency in the pool against Mercyhurst. After a close third period, Bywater cemented the Colonials 10-7 victory, scoring her fourth and final goal of the game. The junior attacker concluded the weekend with three goals, three assists, and three steals in GW’s win over Gannon.
