Peotter Named CWPA Southern Division Player and Rookie of the Week

BRIDGEPORT, PA - George Washington freshman driver Allison Peotter was named Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Southern Division Player and Rookie of the Week Tuesday, becoming the first player in league history to earn both awards in the same week. Peotter, who previously was named CWPA Southern Rookie of the Week on Feb. 23 and March 2, totaled 25 goals, nine assists, 26 steals, 25 swim-offs won during the Colonials' nine-game swing through the West Coast March 14-21. In five games last week, Peotter posted 17 goals, seven assists, 14 steals and 14 swim-offs to help GW to a 2-3 mark with victories over nationally ranked Division III opponents Whittier and Chapman. Peotter recorded multiple goals in 7-of-9 games during the West Coast trip, highlighted by a five-goal, three-assist effort in a 15-13 loss at CWPA Div. III No. 2 Occidental March 20. She also recorded a pair of four goal games and finished with three points (1g/2a) and four steals against No. 7 California March 15. Peotter leads the Colonials with 39 goals, 60 points, 52 steals and 52 swim-offs won through 19 games this season. GW (4-15) returns to action this Friday at Villanova at 7:00 pm.
