COLLEGE PARK, MD - The George Washington University women's water polo team has earned the No. 7 seed for the 2006 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championship, as seedings were announced Monday afternoon for the nine-team field. Maryland will serve as host of the championship with contests being played at the Terrapins' Campus Rec Center Natatorium.

The Colonials (8-8), winners of four straight, will face second-seeded Bucknell in their opening game on Saturday, April 1 at 10:15 a.m. If GW wins, it will play again at 4:30 p.m. and face the winner of the game between No. 3 Maryland and No. 6 Harvard. If the Colonials lose to Bucknell, they will play the loser of the Maryland-Harvard match at 3:15 p.m.

GW placed eighth at last year's ECAC Championship, which was hosted by Bucknell in Lewisburg, PA.
