Allison Peotter Inks Letter of Intent With Women's Water Polo

April 23, 2008

WASHINGTON, DC - George Washington women's water polo head coach Scott Reed has announced that Allison Peotter (Newport Beach, CA/Corona del Mar) has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Colonials beginning in 2009.

A 5-9 driver and two-meter defender, Peotter was a second team All-Southern California selection by the California Interscholastic Federation after helping Corona del Mar to a 27-8 overall record and Division I state championship game appearance in 2008. Peotter scored 40 goals and added 20 assists and 37 steals as a senior to earn first team All-Pacific Coast League and Daily Pilot "Dream Team" honors.

"Allison comes from one of the top high school teams in the country," said Reed, whose GW team finished the 2008 season 7-21 overall. "She will be a valuable asset right away. Her counter-attack style of play will add another dimension to our offense next year."

Peotter was named to the Southern California Invitational All-Tournament Team and received Corona del Mar's Most Inspirational and Outstanding Student-Athlete awards this past season. As a junior, Peotter had 12 goals, five assists and 15 steals as the Sea Kings posted a 24-10 overall record. Peotter also was a four-year varsity swimmer and finished 14th in the state in the 100-meter backstroke as a sophomore.

GW eclipsed its 2007 win total with seven victories in 2008 - Villanova (twice), Siena, Grove City, Fresno Pacific, Occidental and Macalester. The Colonials lose four seniors, but return 12 letterwinners for the 2009 season.
