Women's Water Polo Garners Postseason Honors

WASHINGTON, DC - The Collegiate Water Polo Association announced its postseason awards, recognizing three George Washington University players and head coach Scott Reed.

Junior Kira Canon was voted to the Eastern Championship All-Tournament team for her solid performance over four matches. Canon led the Colonials in scoring at the Eastern Championship tallying nine goals.

Senior Ashley Pyka and junior Vanessa Fravel were also honored by being voted onto the Southern Division All-Tournament Second Team. Pyka finishes her career as a Colonial as the all-time leader in goals scored with 143. Fravel was second on the team in total points, scoring 38 goals and adding 24 assists for 62 points.

Head coach Scott Reed was also recognized for the success of the program this season, voted Southern Division Coach of the Year by his peers. The Colonials (18-13) finished their fourth season as a varsity sport with their highest placing in the Eastern Championships in the history of the program, seventh place.
