Allison Peotter Named 2009 Women's Water Polo Team MVP

May 6, 2009

WASHINGTON, DC - Allison Peotter was named the women's water polo team's Most Valuable Player at George Washington University's annual Senior Honors Luncheon on the GW campus Monday.

Peotter enjoyed one of the finest freshman seasons in women's water polo history, pacing the Colonials in goals (49), assists (35), points (84), steals (75) and swim-offs won (70). She set single-season records with 35 assists and 70 swim-offs, while her 84 points and 75 steals were the third-most in one season in program history.

En route to being the first GW freshman to be named First Team All-South, Peotter was chosen CWPA Southern Division Rookie of the Week three times and became the first player in league history to earn Player and Rookie of the Week honors in the same week on March 24.
