Two Colonials Named to All-Conference Teams

May 9, 2005

BRIDGEPORT, PA - Senior Kendra Shanley and sophomore Morgan Hooker were each selected to Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Southern Division All-Conference teams earlier this month. Shanley was a first-team selection, while Hooker earned second-team accolades.

Shanley became the fifth Colonial in the history of the program to be named to the Southern Division All-Conference First Team. She tallied 33 goals in 2005 and ranked second on the team with 34 steals. She finished her career ranked fourth all-time at GW in goals (115), assists (66), points (181), and steals (165). Shanley was a second-team all-conference choice in 2004.

Hooker paced the Colonials this season with 48 goals and 56 points. She also owned the best shooting percentage of any GW player with at least 100 attempts (.480, 48-100).

Princeton and Bucknell each placed five student-athletes on the all-conference squads and the Tigers' Elyse Colgan and Luis Nicolao were named Southern Division Player of the Year and Coach of the Year, respectively.

The Colonials finished the season 13-17 and advanced to the CWPA Eastern Championship for the sixth time.
