Hooker, Burnett Earn Women's Collegiate Water Polo Association All-Conference Honors

WASHINGTON, DC - George Washington University juniors Morgan Hooker (Woodland Hills, CA) and Jenna Burnett (Lake Forest, CA) have each been selected to the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Southern Division All-Conference teams, as announced by the league office. Hooker, a junior co-captain, earned Southern Division First-Team All-Conference honors, while Burnett was selected to the Second Team. Hooker, who earned Southern Division Second-Team accolades last season as a sophomore, led the Colonials in 2006 with 40 goals in 25 games. She also ranked second on the team in total points with 41 to go along with 19 steals, 27 ejections drawn and seven ejection goals. Hooker becomes just the sixth Colonial in women's water polo history to be named Southern Division First-Team All-Conference. Burnett, meanwhile, led GW this season with 23 assists and 46 total points. She also added 23 goals in 24 games and also led the squad with 34 steals and nine ejection goals. It marks the second straight year in which GW has had at least one student-athlete on both the First and Second Southern Division All-Conference Teams. The Colonials finished 10-15 overall in 2006, earning a seventh place finish at the ECAC Championship and a fourth place finish at the CWPA Southern Championship to close the season.
