McGeoy and Hallahan recognized for the third consecutive year
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. – The George Washington women’s water polo team has placed six student-athletes on the 2017 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Women’s Varsity Scholar-Athlete Team and the Association of College Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) All-Academic Team.
Juniors Erin McGeoy and Scarlett Hallahan earned superior status for boasting a cumulative grade-point average between 3.41-3.70, while freshmen Allison DeCicco and Kira Bruno and juniors Maddie Goodell and Maggie Ball earned excellent status for garnering a GPA between 3.20-3.40.
McGeoy, a business administration major, and Hallahan, a public health major, received superior accolades from both organizations for the third year in a row.
With a team GPA of 3.01, GW was one of 15 teams in the CWPA and one of 42 across the nation above a 3.0.
The ACWPC All-Academic Team and CWPA Scholar-Athlete Team honor varsity student-athletes who possess a 3.2 cumulative GPA or higher, and the ACWPC requires the athletes to have competed in at least half of their team’s games during the 2017 season. The ACWPC recognized a total of 536 athletes across the nation, while the CWPA honored 144 from its member schools.
