Ryck Paces GW Women's Cross Country at Mount St. Mary's Duals
Graduate Transfer Finishes in Fifth Place in Season Opener

EMMITSBURG, Md. - Graduate student Angela Ryck finished in fifth place out of 80 participants to lead the George Washington women's cross country team to a fifth-place finish at the Mount St. Mary's Duals on Friday afternoon.
The Colonials took fifth out of six teams with a 1-4 record. Navy (5-0) won the event followed by Delaware (4-1), Maryland (3-2) and American (2-3) with Mount St. Mary's (0-5) finishing in sixth place. The race was scored in a dual-scoring format with each score receiving a dual-meet score against each of the other opponents.
Ryck, a graduate transfer from Notre Dame, navigated the 5,000-meter course in 18:39.37 to lead the Colonials. Also finishing in the top-15 was freshman Ariana North, who finished the course in 19:09.63 (13th place).
Freshman Macaulay Porter finished in 32nd place in her collegiate debut, crossing the line in 19:41.80. She was followed by junior Katie Luker (43rd, 20:17.64), freshman Kirsten Zeller (50th, 20:38.17), junior Erica Halvorson (60th, 21:13.56), sophomore Caroline Wolfe (67th, 21:26.00) and sophomore Katie Bishop (69th, 21:42.99).
GW returns to action next Saturday at the Catholic Invitational on the campus of Catholic University in northeast Washington, D.C.
