LEHIGH, PA -
LEHIGH, PA - Senior Collin Stevenson and redshirt sophomore Megan Hogan once again were strong for the Colonials in their race in Lehigh, PA at the Paul Short Invitational. Stevenson ran a 26:12 in the 8K race and Hogan followed up her strong run two weeks ago and ran a 21:37 in the women's 6K race.
The women finished in 35th place out of 43 teams at the race, and had very strong runs from their top three. Full George Washington women's results are below:
1356 54 Megan Hogan, Jr* 21:37 5:48
The men's team had a very balanced effort and their entire results are as follows:
256 202 Collin Stevenson, Sr 26:12 5:17
Head Coach Brian Beil was pleased overall with his team's effort on Friday. "While our team score wasn't what we were hoping for today, there were some notable individual performances," said Beil. "Our top three female finishers ran as a pack for half of the race, and Megan Hogan was able to put in a strong, even-split effort as a result. Three girls set new personal records for the 6K, but we know we've got to close the gap from our #1 runner to our #5 runner if we hope to post the team score we're looking for at the conference championship in four weeks."
The team now gets the week off as it will return to action at the Penn State National Invitational. The meet is scheduled to take place at State College, PA on Friday, October 17 at 10:00 a.m.
