Women's Cross Country Finishes Eighth at ECAC Championships

Senior Heather Stevens led the Colonials with a eighth-place finish as GW finished in eighth place at Saturday's ECAC Championships.

BRONX, N.Y. - Competing in its final meet of the season, the George Washington women's cross country team ran to an eighth-place finish out of 19 teams at the East Coast Athletic Conference (ECAC) Cross Country Championships in Van Cortland Park in the Bronx on Saturday.

Senior Heather Stevens, an Atlantic 10 All-Conference harrier, was the first across the line for the Colonials, finishing in eighth place overall out of 177 runners. The Hinsdale, Ill., native navigated 5,000-meter course in 18:43.

Senior Juliana Stern was next across the line for the Colonials, finishing in 19:11 for 21st place. She was followed closely by classmate Julia Weir in 19:18 (26th).

The freshmen duo of Kathryn Luker and Caroline Wolfe rounded out the lineup with top-100 finishes. Luker took 69th place in 20:03, followed by Wolfe in 20:14 (81st).
