WASHINGTON, DC - George Washington cross country rising senior Megan Hogan placed sixth in the Women's 10,000-meter run at the 2010 USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Drake Stadium in Des Moines, IA, Thursday evening. Hogan finished with a time of 32:52.84 and was the second-fastest collegian behind fellow 2009 NCAA Cross Country All-American Lisa Koll.

Hogan, who will return to GW for her third and final season of cross country eligibility this fall, finished just over 46 seconds behind the winner, Nike's Amy Begley, and 41 seconds behind Iowa State's Koll. Hogan was one of eight collegians in the 24-runner field, which included Charlotte's Amanda Goetschius, who was runner-up to Hogan at the 2009 Atlantic 10 Cross Country Championship.

The sixth-place finish caps a 2009-10 season in which Hogan became the first GW runner to capture the A-10 cross country championship and earn All-America status with her 27th-place finish at the NCAA Cross Country Championships in November. Hogan also finished fifth in the 10k at the Stanford Invitational in April with a time of 32:34.95, which qualified her to compete in Thursday's USATF national championship, a first for a GW athlete.
