WASHINGTON - George Washington's men's and women's cross country teams return to action following a three-week break from competition at Saturday's Paul Short Invitational hosted by Lehigh University.

The men's 8,000-meter race is scheduled to begin at 12:15 p.m., followed by the women's 6,000-meter installment at 1:00 p.m.

Both squads will race against a field of 48 collegiate teams. The women's field features a total of five teams ranked in the United State Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Poll in addition to 31 programs in the regional rankings. The men's field includes two teams in the regional rankings.

Saturday marks the program's first trip to the Paul Short Invitational since the 2010 season, when the men's team finished in sixth out of 40 schools and the women tied for 24th out of 41 teams.

At the midway point of the regular season, graduate student Angela Ryck paces the women's team with a pair of top-five finishes, including a win at the Catholic Invitational. Additionally, freshmen Ariana North and Macaulay Porter have combined for three top-15 finishes.

On the men's side, sophomore Ryan Tucker has finished in the top-six two times in three races this season. The freshman duo of Seamus Roddy and Jordan Pantalone has also combined for four top-15 finishes thus far.

Three of GW's next four races will take place in the state of Pennsylvania. The Colonials return to the Keystone State on October 19 for the Leopard invitational in Lafayette, Pa. Lehigh will also host the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional on November 8.
