Hogan Named A-10 Co-Women's Cross Country Performer of the Week

Oct. 5, 2009

PHILADELPHIA, PA - GW senior Megan Hogan (Ballston Spa, NY/Saratoga Central Catholic) has been named Women's Cross Country Co-Performer of the Week, the league office announced Monday. It marks her first A-10 honor this season and she shares the award this week with junior Amanda Goetschius from Charlotte.

Hogan finished fifth overall in a time of 20:05 on the 6K course in a field consisted of 362 competitors, many of which were previous All-Americans and top runners from around the nation.

It was the second straight race in which Hogan paced the Women's Cross Country team, also finishing first amongst the Colonials in the Navy Invitational on Sept. 12.

The Colonials now will have two weeks to prepare for the Penn State National Invitational, which will take place on Friday, October 16th. The race is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. and is the final race for the Colonials before they head to Saint Louis for the A-10 Championships on October 31st.
