WASHINGTON - The George Washington women's cross country team returns to the Atlantic 10 Championship on Saturday in search of its first-ever team championship at Pole Green Park in Mechanicsville, Va.

The 5,000-meter championship race is set to begin at approximately 10:50 a.m. This year's Cross Country Championships will be streamed live and free of charge on the A-10 Digital Network, weather permitting. To find Saturday's stream, visit the A-10 Digital Network Media Player by clicking here.

Last season, the Colonials finished in 10th place out of 14 schools with then-senior Heather Stevens garnering A-10 All-Conference honors with a 15th-place individual finish.

Six of the 14 competing teams are currently ranked in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Regional Rankings. Duquesne (6th), La Salle (10th) and Saint Joseph's (13th) are each ranked in the Mid-Atlantic region, while Dayton is ranked 14th in the Great Lakes Region, Richmond is ranked 13th in the Southeast Region and Saint Louis sits at No. 15 in the Midwest Region.

GW's best finish at the Atlantic 10 Championship was a fifth-place finish in 1997. Alumna Megan Hogan ('09) is a two-time Atlantic 10 Individual Champion (2009, 2010) and owns the fastest time in Championship history when she set a record of 16:56 at Pittsburgh's Schenley Park in 2010.

Angela Ryck (18:05 PR) - Leads GW with three top-finishes this season, including winning the Catholic Invitational (6K, 23:06), topping a field of 53 runners ... named Atlantic 10 Performer of the Week on Sept. 9 following Catholic Invitational ... also registered fifth-place finish at season opening Mount St. Mary's Duals (5K, 18:39).

 

 

Kathryn Luker (20:03 PR) - Has appeared in four races this season ... best finish was 13th place at Catholic Invitational (6K, 24:35) ... Saturday marks third career appearance at Atlantic 10 Championships ... best finish was 99th place (20:07) last season.

Macaulay Porter (19:41 PR) - Freshman has appeared in every meet in debut season at GW ... led team with a third-place showing out of 165 runners at the Leopard Invitational on Oct. 19 (6K, 22:28) ... finished in seventh place out of 53 runners at Catholic Invitational (6K, 24:42).

Ariana North (19:09 PR) - Has appeared in three races this season with a pair of top-10 finishes ... finished in sixth place at the Catholic Invitational (6K, 23:28) and seventh place at the Leopard Invitational (6K, 22:28).

Kirsten Zeller (20:38 PR) - Has appeared in three races in debut season with best finish coming at the Catholic Invitational (6K, 25:01) where she finished in 17th place.

Erica Halvorson (21:13 PR) - Making third career appearance at Atlantic 10 Championship ... has appeared in four races this season with best showing at the Catholic Invitational (6K, 25:34) where she finished 23rd out of 53 competitors.
