MEN'S SQUASH - @GWSquash

The No. 16 nationally ranked George Washington men's squash team returns to action with a Saturday doubleheader at the Matthew J. Grossman Squash Courts inside Lerner Health & Wellness Center against No. 15 Bates at 11 a.m., and No. 9 Penn at 6 p.m.

GW is off to a 3-0 start after last weekend's victories over Kenyon and No. 25 Hobart. The Colonials have won each of their three matches by a 9-0 margin and have won all but four individual matches in straight sets.

Junior Chris Bell yielded just 16 points across two matches last weekend, including just one point against Kenyon in an 11-1, 11-0, 11-0 victory at the No. 8 position.

Senior Islam El-Fiky has started all three matches at the No. 1 position while head coach Wendy Lawrence has shuffled the rest of the lineup through the season's first three matches.

GW (1-0) faced Navy's male junior varsity team last weekend in an exhibition scrimmage and fell by a narrow 5-4 margin.

Freshman Anna Gabriela Porras, who competed earlier this week for her native Colombia at the World Squash Federation's World Team Championship, yielded just six points in her 11-1, 11-2, 11-3 victory in the No. 1 position in the win over Georgetown. The rest of the lineup followed suit as the Colonials claimed their fifth consecutive season-opening victory over the Hoyas.
