Megan Hogan Named A-10 Women's Cross Country Student-Athlete of the Year

NEWPORT NEWS, VA - George Washington senior Megan Hogan was named the Atlantic 10 Student Athlete of the Year in women's cross country Tuesday, as announced by the Atlantic 10 Conference. Hogan boasts a 3.37 grade point average as an Interior Design major and became George Washington's first ever A-10 individual champion, after winning the 2009 Atlantic 10 Championships earlier this season in St. Louis, Mo. A native of Ballston Spa, NY, Hogan will be competing at the 2009 NCAA Cross Country Championships for the second consecutive year on Nov. 23 in Terre Haute, Ind. Last year Hogan placed 96th out of the 252 top runners in the country, during her first season on Foggy Bottom. Hogan has also been named to the All-Mid Atlantic Regional team for her 11th place finish in last weekend's NCAA Regional. She also becomes the first-ever Colonials runner to be named to the team in consecutive seasons. Joining Hogan on the women's cross country Academic All-Conference team are Maureen Bulgrin and Liz Coorey of Dayton; Duquesne's Meg Ecker; Brigid Moriarty of Fordham; and Massachusetts' Shiyi Zan.
