Women's Track Sets Multiple PRs at Terrapin Invitational

HYATTSVILLE, Md. - Twelve new personal records highlighted a strong afternoon for the George Washington women's track team at Saturday's Terrapin Invitational at the Prince George's Sports and Learning Complex.

GW placed ninth out of 14 teams on the afternoon with the Colonials combining for four top-10 finishes across a pair of distance events in the 3000m and mile.

In the 3000m, sophomore Halley Brown finished second overall with a new personal-record time of 10:13.80 while senior Macaulay Porter also set a career best by taking fourth place in 10:25.90. GW's remaining three competitors in the event - freshman Gabriella Vlattas (11th, 10:43.54), sophomore Rachel Gallivan (22nd, 11:35.88) and freshman Macy Evans (23rd, 11:46.16) - also set personal records.

All four of GW's competitors in the mile posted career-best times. Sophomore Madison Yerke led the quartet with a sixth-place finish in 5:12.38 while freshman Suzanne Dannheim finished in 5:22.04 to secure 10th place ahead of sophomores Kelli Stetson (15th, 5:29.97) and Lesley Fatica (22nd, 5:40.93).

Freshman Greta Goetz led a trio of Colonials in the 800m, placing in 11th in 2:22.55, ahead of sophomore Lauren Anderson (19th, 2:30.15).

GW returns to action at next weekend's Wesley Brown Invitational at the United States Naval Academy.
