Women's Track Logs Seven Top-Five Finishes at Patriot Games
Nohilly wins 1000m in collegiate debut
FAIRFAX, Va. - The George Washington women's indoor track team combined to post seven top-five finishes across five events at this weekend's Patriot Games at George Mason University.
The highlight of the weekend was freshman Kathryn Nohilly finishing first overall out of nine competitors in the 1,000-meter run with a time of 3:00.98. Even more impressive was the fact that it was Nohilly's first-ever collegiate track race at that distance. Her time was also just three seconds off the program record for that event (2:57.98).
Nohilly's teammate Brittany Wilkinson joined her in the top five of the 1000m by taking fourth in 3:08.51.
The mile saw a trio of Colonials finish in the top five, led by senior Lauren t'Kint de Roodenbeke who was the top collegiate finisher by taking second overall in a new personal-record time of 5:01.55. Junior Suzanne Dannheim followed in fourth place (5:03.71, PR) with junior Halley Brown taking fifth (5:05.36).
GW's penultimate meet of the indoor season will take place on February 3 when the squad competes at the Villanova Invitational on Staten Island, N.Y.
