COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The George Washington women's track team opened its outdoor season at Saturday's Maryland Invitational at Kehoe Track.

Sophomore Miranda DiBiasio led a sextet of Colonials in the 1,500-meter run with a fifth-place finish. She tallied a new personal-record time of 4:53.42, beating her previous mark by six seconds, to pace her teammates. Senior Caroline Wolfe (4:54.04, 8th) and junior Ariana North (4:55.26, 10th) also secured new PRs.

Freshman Halley Brown (4:56.49), junior Kirsten Zeller (5:04.33) and sophomore Malone Gabor (5:09.48) also made their first collegiate appearances at the 1500m distance.

GW also had three freshman runners make their debuts in the 3000m. Brigid Prial finished in 11:00.98, followed by Kelli Steston (11:01.02) and Madison Yerke (11:15.81).

GW returns to action at the Colonial Relays next weekend in Williamsburg, Virginia.
