Women's Track Wraps Weekend at Colonial Relays

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - Sophomore Halley Brown shattered the week-old school record in the 1,500-meter run to highlight a successful weekend at the Colonial Relays for the George Washington women's track team.

Brown's time of 4:29.96 stands as 12-second improvement on the record set one week ago by Madison Yerke. Brown finished in ninth place out of 96 competitors to lead a quartet of Colonials in the event.

Laure t'Kint de Roodenbeke (4:41.43) and freshman Suzanne Dannheim (4:45.57) both set new personal records in the event while Yerke finished in 4:42.78.

Senior Macaulay Porter and freshman Gabriella Vlattas both set new personal bests in the 5,000-meter run. Porter clocked in at 17:38.76, an improvement by well over one minute on her previous best (18:26.27) while Vlattas finished in 18:07.43, 11 seconds better than her time from last weekend's Navy Invitational.

A pair of relay teams made program debuts for the Colonials on Sunday.

Lauren Anderson, Malone Gabor, Suzanne Dannheim and Ariana North combined to finish in 9:56.25 in the 4x800.

Lauren t'Kint, Rachel Hughen, Brigid Prial and Halley Brown ran the 4x1500m in 20:12.20.



GW will be back in action at next weekend's George Mason Invitational on Saturday in Fairfax, Virginia.
