DiBiasio Wins 10K to Lead Women's Track at A-10 Championships
Junior repeats as 10K Champions; four others earn All-Conference
AMHERST, Mass. - George Washington junior Miranda DiBiasio repeated as the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track 10,000-meter champion on Saturday to lead a successful weekend for the women's track team at the Atlantic 10 Championship this weekend.
In total, the Colonials combined for one event championship, five All-Conference performances and six top-10 finishes across the two-day meet.
DiBiasio got things rolling on Saturday in the 10K, finishing in 34:56.74 for her second consecutive Gold Medal in the event. She improved on her championship time from last year by 11 seconds while topping the field by a margin of three seconds.
Also competing on Saturday was sophomore Lesley Fatica, who put forth an All-Conference performance in the 3,000-meter steeplechase by taking seventh place in 11:16.22.
GW competed in two events on Saturday. In the 5,000-meter run, senior Macaulay Porter concluded her collegiate career with an All-Conference showing by placing seventh overall in 17:10.41, a new personal record. Freshman Suzanne Dannheim (19th, 17:43.25) and Gabriella Vlattas (20th, 17:45.16 PR) also competed in the event.
In the 1,500-meter run, sophomore Halley Brown (7th, 7:34.38) and Madison Yerke (8th, 4:35.35) both turned in All-Conference efforts while junior Lauren t'Kint de Roodenbeke notched a PR of 4:36.59 to finish 10th.
