EMMITSBURG, Md. - Junior Halley Brown posted a personal-record 5,000-meter time to lead the George Washington women's cross country team to a 4-1-1 record at the season-opening Mount St. Mary's Duals on Friday afternoon.

Notes

  • Junior Halley Brown set a new 5K personal record by just over two seconds to lead the Colonials with a second-place finish.
  • Junior Madison Yerke also placed in the top ten by taking sixth overall in 18:36.75.
  • A trio of Colonials - sophomore Gabriella Vlattas (19:10.83), junior Lesley Fatica (19:15.10) and sophomore Rachel Gallivan (19:15.79) all crossed the finish line within five seconds of each other, with the latter two setting new PRs.
  • Five rookie harriers debuted with the top performance going to Abby Rustay (22nd, 18:57.81)
